2016 BEEF AND PORK HARVEST

***November 18, 2016: Get your deposits in, harvest is November 23rd, meat will be ready ~Dec 8th***

The per pound price is based on the hanging weight.  Processing charges are in addition to the farm cost.  Sausage/Smoking or special items available at additional cost.

Beef

¼ Side –           $4.29/lb. hanging weight + .60 cents/lb. Processing + $20 handling

                         $400 deposit required to make a reservation.

                         Approx. 120 to 170 lb. HW. 

½ Side –           $4.09/lb. hanging weight + .60 cents/lb. Processing + $40.00 handling

                         $800 deposit required to make a reservation.

                         Approx. 245 to 290 lb. HW.  

Whole –            $4.09/lb. hanging weight + .60 cents/lb. Processing + $80.00 Handling

                         $1200 deposit required to make a reservation.

                         Approx. 480 to 540 lb. HW.  

Pork  – PRECUT in 2 versions available, from 2015 harvest in great packaging

½ Side –           $3.29/lb. hanging weight + .60 cents/lb. Processing + $20.00 handling

                         $400 deposit required to make a reservation.

                         Approx. 80 to 110 lb. HW.  

Whole –           $3.09/lb. hanging weight + .60 cents/lb. Processing + $40.00 handling

                        $700 deposit required to make a reservation.

                         Approx. 160 to 220 lb. HW.  

 

Changes 2016:

– The Meat Market in Baraboo WI will be our processor this year, same as last year. They do a great job! However, they do not have no-nitrates added options for sausage/smoked items. Sorry! It is possible to get your trim back and take it somewhere that does no-nitrates added sausage/smoking, or do it yourself (it’s really quite fun to make sausage).

Pork is from last year’s harvest, we did not grow hogs this season, but if you enjoyed last year’s pork – great reviews – most flattering of which is from the people that processed them saying they were just awesome looking and they see a lot of animals – and the packaging is superior and lasts for YEARS, so there is no issue that it is last year’s hogs. They are located in cold storage at an off farm location, and will be available from the farm, typically on FRIDAYS. We will not generally have space at the farm for ‘whenever’ types of pickups.

– Meat pickup will be at The Meat Market, NOT at the farm, we won’t be offering farm pickup as an option. Between handling cut sheets & pickup, the farm loses about three days of labor per year and this way is actually the way most people in our business do it.
