All-Natural Pastured Poultry

About our Pastured Broilers

2010: We have again found a source for our great label-rouge chickens, NOT the big white lumps that are the cornish crosses. We are OUT (very shortly after harvest!), we will "grow to order" again this year, based on deposits. Promise to ourselves: We WILL NOT give in and sell, no matter how hard anyone begs, out of our stash for our family! We are left with a couple is it! So good!

  • Our farm is Certified Organic. Everything about our chickens is organic except the processing, which too is in line with organic standards, but the facility is not certified, therefore we cannot call our birds "certified organic".
  • We feed only ORGANIC CHICKEN FEED. Organic feed is significantly higher than the price of conventional feeds. We expect a fair price for our chickens, we pay a fair price for our feed. Most of the grains in our feed is grown here, at our farm.
  • 30% of their diet ends up being our lush grasses & clovers, which means healthier birds & higher Omega3 "good cholesterol", and lower Omega6's "bad cholesterols", plus other health benefits. See http://www.eatwild.com for more information about the benefits of pasturing.
  • Pastured!. Happy, low stress animals mean for the best tasting food -- that you can feel good about.
  • No antibiotics/growth hormones/any kind of funny business.
  • Our farming practices are zero-impact on the world around us. We create no pollution, in the form of chemical runoff, smells. We are responsible and respectful neighbors always.
  • Come see how we raise our animals, see how we farm. The more you know about how and why we do what we do, the better you're going to feel about buying and eating food from our farm. Ask for a tour of a big name chicken factory and see how far you get. Nothing is hidden here ever!
  • I can buy a broiler for $5 at the store! Yes, yes you can. Take it upon yourself to see how that bird lived, what it ate, who the people are that benefit. Google that and see how hungry you are when you're done. Decide for yourself if it's important to you to know where your food comes from and how it's raised, and whether you'd rather spend more for higher quality food you can feel good about. By not operating on volume and fractions of a percent margins, we are not tempted to compromise the quality.
  • What about a bird from a "natural" farm, NOT feeding organic feeds? In addition to the no herbicides, pesticides or antibiotics, Organic = everyone was treated fairly in the production of that item & was produced responsibly and sustainably. This is the cost for everyone to be treated fairly, not just the grower. Non-organic feeds, how were those grains grown? Support our farm, support organic, which supports all farmers.
  • Do you deserve good food? EVERY DOLLAR YOU SPEND IS A VOTE.
